HOW TO USE NEARPOD

 

what is nearpod and what is it used for?

Nearpod helps educators make any lesson interactive whether in the classroom or virtual. The concept is simple. A teacher can create interactive presentations that can contain Quiz's, Polls, Videos, Collaborate Boards, and more.The students can access a teacher’s presentation through a code and the teacher then moves the class through the presentation and lets students interact with the media as they go. Teachers can also opt for Student-Paced mode, where the student controls the flow of the lesson. The app is web-based and works on any device with an internet connection.

to create four types of document which are lesson, video, activity or google slides, you should just click the button 'create'. then, you will come across four choices. 

1. creating activities

firstly just to exemplify, in the category of activities, you are going to come across three activity types which are matchings pairs, time to climb, or draw it. 

after deciding upon the matching activity,  you have got to pick one of the topics on the right side.

here is an example of what you can create for your students. you can write a word and then its meaning. then, your students will match the words with the correct meanings.

2. creating lessons

in order to create lessons for your students, you have got to click the option 'lesson'. then, you have got to click the plus ' add content'.

you can choose either content or activities. in the category of 'content', you come across lots of options such as video, audio, pdf viewer...

or 

you can choose activites in order to create a lesson for your students.

now you see the options above. you gotta pick one.

here is an example of "fill in the blanks" I have prepared. you can change the font from the text style on the left side.

also, you can upload images, presentations, or worksheets by searching for the needed subject.

as an example, you can search for "when and while" on the web. then, you can choose the most appropriate presentation or worksheet for your students just like i did.

  3. uploading and editing videos

according to the content of the subject of the lesson, you are free to choose any videos you want to.

we can focus on "conjunctions" as an example. 

if you want to take the video to another level, you can add activities at any minute or trim it as you want. another easy aspect of nearpod is that you can watch the video with the subtitles.
